What is Spoonflower?

Spoonflower is a print-on-demand company that sells fabric, wallpaper, and home decor. Because each product is manufactured only when purchased, customers can choose from a vast catalog of available designs, from many different designers.

How do I know if I am purchasing your products, and not just anyone’s?

Thanks so much for asking!

The easiest way to see what I have available for sale is to go directly to my shop.

As soon as you click on a design, however, there are lots of ways you can be redirected away from my designs (most easily through the “designs you might like” area, which scrolls *only* through competitors’ designs, and never through mine—even when I have a gazillion other similar designs that could fill that space easily.)

To make sure you’re purchasing a design that is mine, simply double check that the design you’re looking at says “by ArgyleImp”

Do you know where I can find a Spoonflower Coupon Code?

If you’re a first time buyer, Spoonflower offers a 15% off coupon if you sign up for email and text promotions. Simply head to my shop, wait for the page to fully load, and watch for the popup that reads “15% off”. Entering your information not only gets you a 15% off coupon, but puts you on the list that alerts you of deals when they come up!

What are mockups?

Spoonflower is a print-on-demand site, which means the product isn’t manufactured until purchased. To help you envision what your product will look like, Spoonflower utilizes mockups, which superimpose my design file over a photo of the actual product.

Because of this, there can be slight color variations between what you see on your device’s screen and what the final product looks like. For this reason I highly recommend swatching before buying large orders of fabric yardage or wallpaper, to make sure that the colors are as you expect.

What do I do if the design looks like it printed wrong?

As the designer, what I control is the design file. In my quality control, I make sure that the repeat pattern repeats without error, and that designs are high res and crisp.

However, occasionally, a design may not print as expected.

For printing issues—such as colors that clearly are printed wrong (green instead of purple or something obviously way off), or splotchy printing that is not a part of the design file (note that many of my designs do feature deliberate texturing), very fuzzy design printing, or other things that look like errors in printing—it can be very possible that somehow something was off at the manufacturing side of things.

The best thing to do is to contact Spoonflower’s help team.

In a pinch, I’m happy to take a look at a photo you may have of your product to see if I can spot what might have gone wrong.

(Please note that certain colors, such a purples and blues, may print differently than they appear on your screen. Additionally, different substrates take colors differently. For that reason, I recommend swatching before buying large quantities of fabric or wallpaper.)
