What is faux glitter fabric?
For starters, check out this collection of mine on Spoonflower!
(o.m.g. …. all the options!!!)
Faux glitter fabric is the look of glitter without actual glitter. It’s the bling and the joy, without the little plastic bits.
Faux glitter is an image of glitter printed directly onto fabric.
In this photo, several faux glitter designs have been printed on Spoonflower’s satin fabric—an ultra-shiny polyester that nicely catches the light.
What makes ArgyleImp’s faux glitter fabric special?
The HUGE size of the repeat!
Each repeat of my faux glitter designs is 5 feet by 2 feet. That’s feet, folks.
(That means that you have to search hard to find exact design elements repeating themselves.)
The massive variety of available colors
The vast range of different styles of glitter
What can you expect from faux glitter fabric?
First, the look of your faux glitter will be effected by the substrate it is printed on.
The shinier the substrate, the shinier the print will be.
Here, the top fabric is Satin, while the bottom is Petal Signature Cotton.
Second, the colors that actually print can truly vary from what you’re seeing on the screen, depending on the substrates.
Especially where purples and reds are concerned. This is why I always recommend swatching before purchasing in large quantities.
Here are some bright colors that can print differently on different types of fabric
What can you use faux glitter fabric for?
Oh, loads of things!
One place faux glitter fabric is especially great is in projects where the aura of glitter is desired, but the case-use means you just shouldn’t or can’t use glitter.
Take these comfort pillows. These pillows, with their brightly colorful faux glitter print, are great for someone who just can’t leave their bed. A perfectly-sized 15″ x 8″, each is printed on Spoonflower’s Petal Signature Cotton.
Even after being laundered many times, these pillows still pep up the sick-bed.
